Mission Statement

Child Safety Program, Restraints and Safety Seats

Laws have changed and current data suggests that 9 out 10 car seats / boosters are installed improperly.  Seat belt compliance in Pennsylvania still lacks behind other locations.

** All occupants under 18 years old are now required to be a seat belt system, while traveling in a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania.  Infants need to be in an approved safety seat until 4 years old, children between 4 & 8 years old are required to be in a booster seat.  All other children, 8-18 years old are required to be seat belted, preferably in the rear seating positions.

Due to staffing constraints, the Township Police Department is not in a position at this time to provide assistance with the installation of infant safety seats, toddler booster seats and proper use of car seatbelt systems.  The Department encourages individuals interested in assistance to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Skippack.

We are dedicated to enhancing the protection of children through education and enforcement.
